‘Grand Theft Auto Online’ Stimulus Package Rolling Out Now

Posted on March 31, 2014 at 2:08 pm

A little over per week after Grand Theft Auto Online launched, it became clear to developer Rockstar that it had bitten off way over it might chew. The launch of Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer component was plagued with clogged servers and glitches from the instant it went live, and in mid-October Rockstar promised players $500,000 of free in-game cash as an incentive to stay around while the sport was being fixed.

After over a month of players complaining of lost cash, progress, and characters, Rockstar earlier this week released a patch for GTA Online that has supposedly gotten the sport in working order. With that out of ways, the developer has finally made good on its “stimulus package” promise.

The first $500,000 deposits have now begun rolling out to in-game player bank accounts. Any GTA Online player who played the sport during October is eligible for the cash. Rockstar predicts that it’s going to soak up to 2 days for all players to receive their cash.

The stimulus package should be seen as Rockstar’s apology for the failings that plagued GTA Online during its launch month. Over on its newswire, Rockstar thanked the GTA fans which have stuck with the sport through its messy launch:

Thanks exit to everyone for his or her continued patience and understanding while we worked through these issues, and we can’t wait to bring more into the area of GTA Online. On that note, stay tuned for more details at the Beach Bum update soon in addition to upcoming Social Club event announcements and more here on the Newswire.

The “Beach Bum” update is anticipated to hit GTA Online sometime this month.

Ryse: Son Of Rome Gets Three New Gameplay Trailers

Posted on March 30, 2014 at 2:53 pm

If you’re getting an Xbox One on November 22, likelihood is you’re also picking up Ryse: Son of Rome. The Crytek developed game was incessantly pushed by Microsoft ever because it was revealed to be a launch title at E3 2013. You will be getting cold feet now though, and would really like it if Microsoft would supply you with just a bit more incentive.

If you’re still having trouble deciding in the event you should pick up Ryse, three gameplay videos emerged yesterday showing three different sections of the sport. These videos should offer you a good idea of what to anticipate from the third person action game:

While it’s certainly no God of War, Ryse: Son of Rome looks to be the type of mindless action game that can assist you pass a couple of days. The sport may also feature a multiplayer mode to maintain players engaged long after the campaign ends. That’s a minimum of what Microsoft would need you to believe as it’s already planning a season pass for the title.

Sony Unboxes PlayStation 4, Provides An Internal Look

Posted on March 29, 2014 at 3:54 pm

As PlayStation 4s start showing up in store warehouses, it helps bring the belief a higher generation consoles are upon right into a tangible reality. In a fewbout a week, the area as we all know it’ll change forever when the PS4 becomes available for consumption; no less than, that’s the crux of the pitches we’ve been getting. As Sony and Microsoft fight for control of the lounge, we, the patrons, are perceived as winners, provided that we don’t mind dealing with a dear upgrade/changeover.

Because anticipation of those new gadgets reaches a fever pitch, unboxing videos became something. A lot so, in reality, they’re used as marketing pitches. Judging by the numbers, it’s pretty clear people enjoy watching videos of different people opening their new stuff. Which leads us to Wired.com’s exclusive PS4 unboxing video. If people actually need to observe these items, taking the next move and offering an exclusive video, complete with Wired’s logo and watermark, is a shrewd strategy to grab about a more pageviews.

It also helps when the unboxing video goes above and beyond the norm by having a Sony engineer crack the PlayStation 4 case open, giving us a glance on the console’s internal workings. Take a look at Wired’s video and spot what you watched:

Incredibly exciting, no? Sarcasm aside, if nothing else, it’s impressive seeing just how much tech Sony can cram right into a plastic case; and hey, there’s no Spider-Man font distracting us from the clinical autopsy. That should be a plus, right? In case you’ve been living under a rock and missed the inside track, the PS4 would be available on November 15.

Kinect Will have Just Proven Its Worth Today

Posted on March 28, 2014 at 8:19 am

Every Xbox One will ship with a Kinect. It’s a undeniable fact that can’t be avoided and has made some people angry. Some are angry over the increased price ticket of $500 while others are angry about potential privacy violations. Either one of those people can now shut up though because the Kinect has just earned its rightful place on your entertainment center.

A few months ago, Microsoft said that the Kinect could recognize the code at the back of an Xbox Live pre-paid card and immediately redeem it for you. It seemed type of silly on the time, but wait until you spot it in action. It actually has me excited:

As the Vine indicates, the full process takes lower than six seconds. Not more will you should installed a string of silly numbers that takes minutes. Now you only simply delay a card in front of you and Kinect looks after all of the rest.

This is next generation stuff, folks. All those fancy graphics and cloud servers are old hat. Kinect reading QR codes for pre-paid Xbox Live cards is the longer term, and that i want it now. Actually, Sony should be scared witless and are engaged on their very own pre-paid PSN cards which might be read by the optional PS camera.

Rockstar Depositing Virtual Money Into GTA Online Players’ Bank Accounts

Posted on March 26, 2014 at 11:51 am

GTA Online had some netcode issues plaguing players on its rollout, leading to a lot of patches being released so as to stabilize the experience. Apart from working to repair these issues, Rockstar Games is additionally rewarding players for not abandoning them in the course of the rough launch. To expose their affection, the developers are making it rain within the bank accounts of GTA Online players everywhere. Called “the stimulus package,” could be within the type of digital money-no, not Bitcoin-within the amount of half 1,000,000 dollars.

The money would be dispersed via two virtual deposits; each for $250,000. To qualify for Rockstar’s thanks , players must meet right here criteria:

  • You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time throughout the month of October 2013 so that it will qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit on your in-game checking account.
  • Players will first need to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we think to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is anticipated to mend the remainder instances of issues that experience caused vehicle purchase loss and also will enable the functionality wherein we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
  • We will announce on the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
  • Each of the 2 GTA$250,000 deposits can be made by Rockstar and will automatically appear within the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there shouldn’t be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
  • For people that qualify, but haven’t received their money, Rockstar offers the subsequent:

We expect that it’ll take in to two full days for the Stimulus Package to be fully dropped at the total player base from October 2013, so please wait and see in case you don’t see it appearing to your in-game checking account just yet. We’re going to update this post on Friday once we expect all of the GTA$ Stimulus Package deposits to had been completed.

Battlefield 4 To exploit Lean, Voice Commands On Xbox One Kinect

Posted on March 25, 2014 at 1:11 pm

If you’re a kind of game players who loves to gesticulate during gameplay-you understand who you’re-then maybe you’re among the ones the developers were deliberating once they were porting Battlefield 4 over to the Xbox One/Kinect environment. In step with a number of online game blogs, folks that prefer to achieve this can be capable of lean around cover, walls, and other obstacles using Xbox One’s interactive camera to facilitate the action. The tilt function is a small, but effective addition in BF4 and it could actually often make the variation between a good and negative Kill/Death ratio.

As you may expect, the Kinect will acknowledge when seated players lean on the appropriate moment, and translate that into the sport. Again, this can be a crucial tactic since it creates a harder target for the enemy to hit; and in case you aren’t accustomed to Battlefield’s gameplay, believe me, that you need to be as hard to hit as possible. I’m uncertain if the latency delay that’s inherent in such technology makes using the Kinect in Battlefield 4 is especially feasible, a minimum of regarding player movement.

The Kinect’s voice recognition may also be put to make use of by allowing players to name for medics, ammo, and vehicular assistance. Basically, you’ll be saying this much:

Which might be fun, no less than for a couple of minutes. However, as VG247.com points out, if you’re going to apply voice commands, why not only BF4′s in-game chat function to relay these messages? You’d probably have better success. Dice/EA’s impressive shooter can be available at the Xbox One on November 19.

‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Made $1 Billion on its First Day

Posted on March 24, 2014 at 8:44 am

Activision today announced that it sold greater than $1 billion worth of Call of Duty: Ghosts in the course of the game’s first 24 hours on sale. This breaks the former one-day record set back in September by Grand Theft Auto V, which sold greater than $800 million on its first day and hit the billion-dollar mark within three days. Ghosts was released yesterday, November 5, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U.

“Call of Duty is by far the most important console franchise of this generation,” said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision. “More people have played Call of Duty this year than ever before, logging four billion hours of gameplay. And within the last yr, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, including its digital content, generated more revenues than every other console game ever has in one year. Even though it is simply too early to evaluate sell-through for Call of Duty: Ghosts, it’s launching at a time when the franchise hasn’t ever been more popular.”

Importantly for Activision, Call of Duty: Ghosts more than likely cost far less to supply than GTA V, which had a much longer development time. Because of this more of that cash would be inflating Activision’s final analysis.

With sales figures for current-generation consoles during the roof, it might be easy to imagine that decision of Duty fans have opted to turn away from next-generation versions of the title, but that isn’t the case. Apart from the sales figures, Activision also asserted today that decision of Duty: Ghosts is GameStop’s most pre-ordered next-generation title.

‘Ryse: Son of Rome’ Live-Action Series Begins

Posted on March 23, 2014 at 3:51 pm

Last week, Microsoft announced that it had created a live-action web series tied-in to the sector and story of Ryse: Son of Rome. Ryse is likely one of the launch titles for Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One console.

Much like last year’s Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, the Ryse series, titled The autumn, is being released episodically throughout the Machinima Youtube channel. The primary episode of The autumn is out now. The series features Marius Titus, a similar protagonist from the approaching game, as his tragic backstory is revealed.

The production value seen within the first episode of The autumn already seems just like that of Forward Unto Dawn. And though there’s already numerous violence to be seen on this first short prologue episode, the preview near the top of the video foreshadows an extended tale of bloody revenge.

New episodes of The autumn could be posted on Machinima each week within the run as much as Ryse’s launch on November 22.
