EA and Maxis today officially announced the following expansion for The Sims 3. Titled Into the long run, the growth will include many elements from the genre of science fiction. The brand new content includes jetpacks, hoverboards, and robots. Players would be ready to create and customize their very own “plumbots,” and sending sims into the past can affect their future and the way forward for their progeny.

Into the long run may be released just in time for Halloween, on October 25.

In addition to the brand new expansion, EA and Maxis also announced a brand new DLC pack for The Sims 3. The Movie Stuff pack includes furniture, objects, and costumes from several different famous movie genres. Themed objects including cowboy hats, crypts, and super-powered cars could be available from western, horror, and super hero settings. The horses inside the the western settings require The Sims 3 Pets expansion.

Fans of The Sims won’t need to wait quite as long for the Movie Stuff pack – it’ll be available on September 13.
