Capcom’s European operation may be hit by a similar layoffs that afflicted the U.S. office this summer.
According to MCV, up to half the employees at Capcom Europe would be let go.
A statement by a Capcom Europe spokesperson doesn’t mention whether there’ll be layoffs, but reads: “Following a restructure at its U.S. operation, Capcom’s European organization is currently evaluating its structure to make certain it’s inside the best position to exploit the changing market conditions the industry is facing.”
Earlier this summer, Capcom’s U.S. branch suffered layoffs, including senior vice chairman Christian Svennson. We reached out to Capcom for extra clarification at the impact and severity of the layoffs. We received the statement above in response.

Our Take:
The only good which can come of that is that the corporate re-focuses itself for the longer term. But even before the layoffs hit, the corporate noted the high costs of next-gen development. Although i do not know exactly what Capcom has cooking behind-the-scenes, if it’s unsure in regards to the move into next-gen, it may worsen before it gets better.
