Xbox A different Anticipated Than PS4, In response to Yahoo

Sony’s PS4 was released on Friday, and Microsoft’s Xbox One could be released exactly per week later. Obviously both consoles has been highly anticipated by gamers, and may compete for his or her dollars.

Yahoo shared some search trend data with us, watching the recognition of those systems with regards to users’ queries.

“Yahoo users are heavily debating which system is healthier with [ps4 vs xbox one] spiking 200% this month on Yahoo,” Yahoo Web Trend Expert Lauren Whitehouse tells WebProNews. “Over the last 30 days on Yahoo, [playstation 4] and [xbox one] are searched a nearly equal amount of the time, with a slight edge for [xbox one].”

“The [playstation 4] has slightly more interest in women than the [xbox one] as they seek [playstation 4] 31% in place of [xbox one] 25% of the time,” she adds. “Also, Yahoo users have seemed more wanting to pre-order the xbox one as [preorder xbox one] spiked 16380% on Yahoo this month.”

“Overall, it kind of feels just like the XBOX One is slightly more anticipated! [Nintendo 3ds] have been looked for over 12x not up to the opposite two systems on over the past 30 days on Yahoo,” she notes.

Some other interesting search stats from the corporate:

  • Yahoo searches for [xbox one release date] are spiking 232% this month
  • Nearly half (45%) of searches on Yahoo for [xbox one] and for [playstation four] were from users aged 30-45.
  • Yahoo searches for [preorder ps4] spiked 2144% this month.
  • Yahoo searches for [xbox one games] spiked 3418% this month, while searches for [ps4 games] spiked just 189%.
  • Sony sold over 1,000,000 PS4s on Friday. We’ll see soon enough how the Xbox’s first-day numbers stack up.
