Rovio to Release Hidden-Object/Puzzle Game July 11

Rovio, the developer behind the Angry Birds series, today announced that it’ll publish a game called Tiny thief on Thursday, July 11. The sport, the second one to come back out under the publisher’s ‘Rovio Stars’ label, should be available for both iOS and Android.

Rovio Stars is Rovio’s initiative to publish third-party titles on mobile platforms. It’s a tacit acknowledgement that a single mobile developer cannot stay innovative enough on its own to dominate mobile gaming, and that the recognition of the Angry Birds franchise might not last forever. The 1st game released under the label was Icebreaker: A Viking Voyage.

In contrast to Icebreaker’s physics-based action gameplay, Tiny Thief is a more laid-back hidden object and puzzle-solving game. The sport is decided in a medieval world crammed with offbeat characters and humorous events. The effect, as seen within the trailer below, is a game that seems kind of like classic point-and-click adventure games equivalent to Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island, which might seem an ideal fit for touch-based mobile gaming.
