Strider is a classic action platforming game dating back so far as the 8-bit era, and Capcom has just announced another sequel to this futuristic ninja series.
Strider, who some is likely to be knowledgeable about from Marvel vs. Capcom, is getting his first new game since 1999. While at Comic Con, we got a short demo of the recent Strider title, which features non-linear gameplay. The series remains a 2D action game, but you may now have the ability travel to different areas of a large Metroid-like world. Strider moves fast and might walk on walls, but he’ll have to find new upgrades to expand his abilities and unlock new areas.
Strider’s new reflect upgrade allows him to power up his cypher weapon in order that he can reflect enemy bullets back and his foes, similar to a Jedi. An explosive cypher upgrade also allows Strider to set enemies on fire, while the bot option produces small robots that circle across the ninja an attack your foes for you. The charge cypher lets Strider charge his attacks and might even be used to open up special, locked doors.
The action looks fast and furious – which you can swing Strider’s blade as quickly has you’ll tap the attack button – and the animation looks incredibly smooth. Double Helix (that is also designing the hot Killer Instinct) is operating at the game, with the intention to be available in early 2014 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
