Buy A MechWarrior Online Jenner Mech To Fight Cancer
Posted on August 28, 2013 at 3:26 pm
Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing are doing something special in memory of 1 of the youngest MechWarrior fans. Five-year-old Sarah Marie Alida Parries of Vancouver, British Columbia, a devout fan of Mechwarrior Online, recently lost her fight with cancer. The team behind her favorite game has found the way to honor her memory and continue the fight.
Sarah and her father played together often, with Sarah preferring the Jenner (with streak SRMs). To honor her, a custom Jenner Class Chassis Champion mech, “Sarah’s Jenner” can be bought for $10 through August 20, 2013. 100 pc of the proceeds would be given to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Sarah’s Jenner has a novel exterior styling and a ten percent experience boost. You could look at the Jenner in action below and buy your individual here. MechWarrior Online could be exiting its open beta phase on September 17. The title is free-to-play.
Our Take
I don’t play MechWarrior Online, but i could purchase this type of Jenners because it is a touching way for developers to honor a fan. As a parent of a nine- and five-year-old, I’ve spent many hours gaming alongside my kids (and there are many pictures with one or both with controllers on my lap). i will not imagine what Sarah’s family goes through.
Kudos to Piranha Games and Infinite Game Publishing for making the hassle to pay tribute to Sarah and her family. This can be a noble gesture and one who deserves our admiration.

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Finally Confirmed For Wii U
Posted on August 28, 2013 at 6:18 am
Remember when Call of Duty: Ghosts was announced earlier this year? Activision said it was coming to each major console, however the Wii U logo was noticeably absent from the launch trailer. This ended in months of speculation going to and fro on whether the subsequent title inside the franchise would indeed make its option to the Wii U.
Well, Activision finally put an end to the theory today by announcing that decision of Duty: Ghosts will make its technique to the Wii U q4. It’ll launch day and date with the present gen versions of November 5.
“As we have got said before, we’re committed to doing everything we will to support the Wii U, that is why we’re excited to be bringing a number of the best entertainment franchises on the planet to the platform this year,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, Inc. “The Call of Duty franchise is still one of the crucial powerful forces in gaming and Skylanders continues to enchant new fans around the globe. Our studios was hard at work creating modern immersive experiences ideally fitted to the Wii U platform and our fall lineup has something for every person.”
So, will Call of Duty: Ghosts offer any kind of exclusive Wii U features? In the mean time, Activision is solely saying that the Wii U version will include “Wii Remote and second-screen Wii U GamePad support.” We will be able to only hope that Activision may even push to release DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts at the Wii U. Treyarch still hasn’t released any of Black Ops II DLC for the Wii U version, and it’s looking like they never will. a bit assurance would go along technique to convince Wii U gamers that Infinity Ward isn’t going to screw them over on DLC.
If Call of Duty isn’t your thing, Activision can also be releasing Skylanders SWAP Force, Angry Birds Trilogy, Angry Birds Star Wars, Spongebob Squarepants: Plankton’s Robotic Revenge and Wipeout Create and Crash at the Wii U later this year. They’re not exactly what you’ll call core games, but Nintendo needs all of the third party support it may get. Activision is among the few third parties which can just throw cash at products that could or would possibly not succeed, especially when going up against Nintendo’s own games this holiday season.

Kyrie Irving Would be at the Cover of NBA Live 14
Posted on August 27, 2013 at 11:14 am
Video game publisher EA hasn’t put out an NBA Live game since 2009. NBA Live 13 was to were released last year, but was abruptly cancelled in September. Despite EA Sports‘ loss of NBA titles during the last few years, the publisher remains insisting that NBA Live 14 will hit next-generation consoles q4.
In an indication that implies the sport actually is at the way, EA announced today that Kyrie Irving could be the cover athlete for NBA Live 14.
“I’m so proud to be the face of this franchise because it makes its much-anticipated return,” Irving said. “I’ve been at the court with the improvement team and I’ve seen first-hand a number of the amazing things EA Sports is doing with NBA Live 14. The fans are going to like it.”
Irving was the general first pick within the 2011 NBA Draft. During his short career for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Irving was named the 2012 NBA Rookie of the Year and a 2013 NBA All-Star.
In addition to the announcement, EA has released a quick teaser trailer featuring Irving. The trailer claims to point out “actual in-game footage” from NBA Live 14. Though the graphics at the digital Irving look nice, the synchronized audience clapping within the background suggests there should be work to be done at the next-gen title.

FIFA 14’s Ultimate Team Mode Crosses Generations
Posted on August 27, 2013 at 7:47 am
Like Madden announced earlier today, players of FIFA 14 at the current-generation of systems can be ready to continue their progress when the soccer game hits the following-gen systems. Unlike Madden, however, the connection between the 2 generations for the mode may be more of a two-way street.
If you begin playing FIFA 14’s Ultimate Team mode at the current systems, you cannot only transfer all of your cards and items (players, items, coins, trophies, etc.) over if you are going to buy a higher-gen consoles (from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4), but you may as well keep playing the mode going forward on either generation and any future progress should be reflected on either console.
Furthermore, should you make the switch you can retain your division standing in Seasons mode. Your status between both generations of consoles can be recognized when you finish your season and tournaments at the current system. Whatever which console you play on, the PlayStation and Xbox platforms will share a common auction market that binds their current- and next-gen systems.
You will also have a one-time option to transfer over your FIFA Points (as opposed to coins) from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One and between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
This Ultimate Team interplay requires an online connection, PSN or Xbox Live account, and an EA Origin account that used for both consoles involved.
For more at the mode in FIFA 14, take a look at its upgraded chemistry system.
FIFA 14 comes out for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (as well as a bunch of other systems) on September 24, and at the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a while later this year.
Our Take
I loved the Madden announcement earlier today, so it’s even cooler that FIFA is letting you retain ever more within the transition. Some have questioned why anyone would own both current- and next-gen versions of FIFA or Madden, but given you will get a number of months head start on playing a brand new product by picking up the present-gen version, for sports fanatics like me that’s too long to move without.

‘Shadow Returns’ Launches After Successful Kickstarter
Posted on August 26, 2013 at 10:58 am
In April 2012, an indie game company called Harebrained Schemes launched a Kickstarter for a online game called Shadowrun Returns. The project promised to bring back the Shadowrun franchise to gaming, complete with an old-school isometric view and tactical, turn-based combat. The campaign quickly blew past its $400,000 goal, and ended up raising over $1.8 million.
The Kickstarter is among the many over the last year to lift millions for a distinct segment online game. It’s now one of the most first of these Kickstarted games to be released.
Shadowrun Returns is accessible today on PC via Steam, and has received generally good reviews. The game’s launch trailer gives an awesome overview of both its dystopian setting and its gameplay:
More than simply a reboot of a classic cyberpunk RPG, the sport is an explanation-of-concept for the Kickstarter funding model. In a blog post this week, Shadowrun designer Jordan Weisman and Harebrained Schemes this week thanked all in their Kickstarter supporters, in addition to people that closely followed the construction of Shadowrun Returns. From Weisman’s blog post:
I desire to take a moment to personally thanks again for your whole support over the past year or so. It’s been so great hearing from you at the forums, meeting you in person at cons, and eating the bagels and pizza you sent us. It’s definitely an experience I’ll always remember!
In addition to the buzz over the sport launch, Harebrained extensively utilized the blog post to tease a brand new Kickstarter project. The hot project is for a game titled Golem Arcana, and could begin sometime in August. While the core Shadowrun Returns developers will continue to work on that game, a segment of Harebrained can be splitting off to work on Golem Arcana, which Weisman envisions as a half-tablet, half-tabletop game complete with miniatures and a unique stylus.

New ‘Assassin’s Creed IV’ Shows Off Open-World Caribbean Exploration
Posted on August 25, 2013 at 1:39 pm
Recent videos for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag have all for the game’s pirating gameplay, particularly sea battles between ships. However, one core aspect of pirating have been missing: the liberty of the wide-open sea.
Today Ubisoft released a video designed to illustrate just how large Black Flag‘s West Indies setting is. Players gets to explore Cuba; segments of Florida and the Bahamas; and each of the Caribbean waters in-between. As well as attacking and boarding ships, players would be capable of hire a crew to perform a little rum-running, find hidden upgrade items within the map, and explore desolate Mayan ruins. Players may also have Edward Kenway get drunk at taverns, similar to real pirates.
The video is narrated by Black Flag Game Director Ashraf Ismail, who goes over all of the new features included within the game. Sea battles aren’t ignored completely, though, and many of the weapon upgrades available for player ships are all previewed within the video.

Reader Discussion: Your Favorite Game Endings
Posted on August 25, 2013 at 10:42 am
It may be tough to succeed in the belief of a game. In spite of everything, we’ve been working as much as that very moment. Sometimes we walk away satisfied, other times we’re disappointed.
As someone who has felt both feelings, I always wonder what endings others think hit it out of the park. Irrational Games’ BioShock series have been the foremost consistent delivering the categories of endings i need. i like once I take into consideration an ending well after I’ve beat a game. It’s hard to disclaim that endings have become increasingly important to us. The Mass Effect 3 ending left many fans fighting for something more, which resulted in DLC for more clarification.
As games start telling deeper stories, we’re more attached to characters and tuned into what’s happening inside the story arc. The ending is the very last thing we need to hold directly to a few game. What number of you right once you finished The Last people went an discussed the ending with someone? The necessity to analyze and think about these moments are section of why our Spoiled! videos have become so popular. Discussing the tip lets us put the sport in perspective and evaluate if it’s effective. Endings might be so wildly debated that it’s fascinating to see a plethora of opinions on what games people felt got it right.
What games feature a few of your favorite endings? Why do you want them most?
Note: If you are going to discuss spoilers, please put a big spoiler alert before you go into detail. In spite of everything, you simply might entice someone to aim out a game they never considered before, and who desires to be spoiled on something you concentrate on among the best finales?

Last Half That ‘The Bureau: XCOM Declassified’ Trailer Revealed
Posted on August 24, 2013 at 11:58 am
Earlier this week, 2K Games released 1/2 a trailer for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The video showed an Agent Cole, played by Dominic Monaghan (Merry within the Lord of the Rings movies and Charlie in Lost), typing up a report on something called the “Pima Incident. Presumably this incident was an alien invasion, and maybe the identical one teased within the first Bureau teaser and a newer, more creepy, one. The trailer was cut short at a definite point, and viewers were prompted to tweet out whether or not they wanted Cold to #GrabTheGun or #GrabTheBottle to cope with the depressing report.
Today, 2K has revealed the winner of the vote and the second one 1/2 the choose-your-own-ending trailer. The hashtag #GrabTheBottle won narrowly with 51% of the vote. The second one half the trailer begins with Cole taking a robust drink straight from the bottle and ends with one more cliffhanger. Fans don’t get to vote this time, however the next trailer have been teased for fri., July 26.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is a 3rd-person shooter set within the XCOM series. It depicts 60s-era XCOM agents as they battle the alien invasion and take a look at to hide it up. The game’s combat incorporates some strategy elements seen in last year’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, allowing players to place squadmates at the battlefield and use various abilities.
