Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag DLC Not Headed For Wii U
Posted on December 3, 2013 at 6:44 am
Not surprising. Ubisoft might be supporting Nintendo’s incredibly-late-to-the-HD-party misfire of a console, but they’re incredibly unhappy with it’s performance. Every game they’ve pledged to this thing, whether original titles or wonderful ports, have sold poorly. Zombi U was considered a disappointment ultimately, and that appears like Grand Theft Auto V when compared with how Splinter Cell or Rayman did at the platform, though Rayman sold incredibly poorly all around the board. In accordance with VGChartz – Splinter Cell: 20k, in comparison to about 500k on 360 and 400k on PS3. My point is, why would Ubisoft keep wasting their time with a platform who’s install base doesn’t buy their games? It is the same line of thought that applies to everyone else who doesn’t support the Wii U. And, even though Nintendo has a very good holiday season, OTHER PEOPLE’S games might want to sell well for it to really matter. If Mario 3D World sells a ton, but nobody buys Watch Dogs or Batman: Arkham Origins on Wii U, the most obvious assumption is that Ubi Soft and Warner Bros. will walk away. And what they do bother with just isn’t a concern. Hearing this news more & more is no surprise. Though i’ll never be surprised to listen to Nintendo fanboys cry out, “WHY!?!” and “SCREW YOU, UBISOFT!”. Similar to how i will be able to never be surprised whenever any PS3 game receives comments from Vita fans, “I NEED TO PLAY THIS AT THE VITA” and “WHY ISN’T THIS AT THE VITA!?!”. Some gamers just do not know how these things works…. What’s really dumb though is that ACIV isn’t even out yet, though it’s another a type of stupid over-produced titles to announce a season pass well just before it’s release. It’s basically Ubisoft’s declaration that they are only going to release 75% of the sport, and for extra money, they’ll make the remainder of it available to you diehard “fans” who don’t care much about spending money responsibly.

Grand Theft Auto V Might Make It To PC In spite of everything [Report]
Posted on December 3, 2013 at 6:30 am
Grand Theft Auto V launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 last month, and has already made extra money than you’ll ever see in an entire life. Hell, it’s even been awarded with seven Guinness World Records. Despite all this, there’s still no PC version of the sport. That each one might change in 2014 though.
Eurogamer reports that Rockstar’s latest open world crime simulator should be coming to the computer within the first quarter of 2014. The report comes from multiple unnamed industry sources who said that GTA V’s PC release might be rather like GTA IV’s PC release – eight months after the console release. If that’s the case, we’ll see GTA V hit the computer in May. It’s not precisely the first quarter anymore, but it’s still the primary half the year.
A PC version is sweet and all, but what about next-gen versions? GTA V players will inform you that the game’s ambitious scope would had been better served on hardware that’s not eight years old. Well, Rockstar addressed that very subject back in July:
We don’t have anything to share in regards to the possibility of a next-gen or a computer platform release right this moment and we’re completely all for delivering the absolute best experience for the consoles people have promptly.
With the report of a computer version at the way, it makes a next-gen version seem almost plausible. In fact, Rockstar could stand to make some huge cash from repeat purchases by releasing the identical game on next-gen consoles, but with a far better framerate and entire 1080p visuals. This generation proved that folk are willing to double dip on HD remasters of older games, and the identical might just be true next generation.

Horror Game ‘Soma’ Announced for PlayStation 4 and PC
Posted on December 2, 2013 at 12:33 pm
This week and last, Frictional Games began teasing a brand new sci-fi game. Two trailers were released, each showing unsettling footage of robots acting strangely. It seemed, in keeping with the teaser site, that Frictional was set to tease the sport for weeks. Today, however, the developer has officially unveiled Soma.
Soma may be another horror game from Frictional, that is best-often called the developer behind the well-liked Amnesia indie horror games. It will likely be coming to PlayStation 4 and PC sometime in 2015.
Players will tackle the role of a standard person trapped in a “nightmarish” sci-fi world. Like previous Frictional games, gamers should use their wits to outlive, instead of shoot everything in sight.
Thomas Grip, the creative director at Frictional, revealed a piece more concerning the game over at Sony’s PlayStation blog. He calls Soma a “proper” sci-fi game wherein the topics of consciousness and free will are explored through unfamiliar beings and settings, in addition to unsettling machines. From the blog post:
The subject that SOMA will discuss is consciousness. Personally, i locate it the foremost profound questions that it’s possible to invite. “How can the sensation of subjective experience arise from a piece of flesh?” Exploring this further takes us to questions together with “Can machines be conscious?” and “Do we have now free will?” It quickly gets very disturbing, and is perfect for a futuristic horror setting. It’s the sort of sci-fi that we wish to make.
The first trailer for the sport shows exactly what Grip is regarding. Technology, brains, blood, death, and unfeeling machines combine to make the sport feel very unsettling:

How Games Might actually help Care for The terror Of Death
Posted on December 2, 2013 at 7:20 am
The Shin Megami Tensei series, especially the Persona titles were very enlightening to me in showing how the mythology behind all major religions have similar elements. Regardless of the name of the deity, god, demon, devil, angel, etc, there appears to be like a cultural counterpart for them in another religion.
And then there’s the thoughts concerning the afterlife. Again, every culture has its own tackle it, but nobody can also be sure. But i locate some comfort within the thought that there’s something. Maybe it is the Christian concept of a reward, maybe it is the Buddhist/Hindu concept of coming back and cumulatively working one’s way towards a better understanding of life itself.
Or, i’ll be completely wrong. The key is to maintain an open mind and hear other ideas. If those ideas are suggested by a well written game, so be it. Though i suspect we will all rule out the postulate of green mushrooms with the ability to resuscitate you from death.
That or we just haven’t found the best green mushroom yet.

Next-Gen Need For Speed Approaching November 22
Posted on December 1, 2013 at 8:29 am
Racing fans are going to have their pick of games on next-gen consoles next month. Apart from Sony’s DriveClub on PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One, EA is bringing Need for Speed to both new platforms.
Need for Speed: Rivals will arrive for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 22, 2013. For those seeking to get the sport on current hardware, you’re able to pick it up on November 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
Our Take
EA is making a fascinating decision delaying a higher-gen versions by some days. i need to wonder whether sales will suffer as people pick up all in their first-wave games on day one. Will you be saving a gap on your launch budget for Need for Speed: Rivals, or are you making your entire purchases immediately?
