‘Saints Row IV: Enter the Dominatrix’ DLC Out Today

Posted on January 24, 2014 at 8:22 am

Developer Volition today finally released its long-awaited Enter the Dominatrix DLC for Saints Row IV. The add-on content is now available on consoles and PC for $7.

The story behind Enter the Dominatrix could be somewhat embarrassing for Volition. The DLC was originally being developed over 365 days ago because the final piece of content for Saints Row the Third. The add-on was then abruptly cancelled and progress at the content was rolled into the advance of Saints Row IV. In hindsight the shadow of THQ’s failure and subsequent auction should have lingering over Volition as an entire, though the studio has arguably fared better than many other studios caught up within the bankruptcy.

For the recent Enter the Dominatrix, Volition has returned to the guidelines that gave birth to Saints Row IV. Players can be capable of experience an “alternate take” at the storyline of Saints Row IV. Though familiar characters return, the sport also incorporates a “mad” AI program named the Dominatrix, who controls an “army of gimps and sex-workers.” Volition has also included behind-the-scenes commentary for the content.

In addition to go into the Dominatrix, yet another DLC campaign add-on would be released for Saints Row IV this year. Titled How the Saints Saved Christmas, the content can be released before the tip of the year (presumably across the holidays).

Posted on January 23, 2014 at 5:31 am

Killzone Mercenary may already be out, but Sony isn’t quite done with the primary shooter at the Vita to get it right. Perhaps in an try to remind folks that Killzone is on both the Vita and PS4 this year, it has released a developer diary that discusses the event of Killzone Mercenary.

In what seems to be the 1st episode of a chain of videos, the developers at Guerilla Cambridge speak about how they approached the tale within the latest Killzone game. The series has always been Sony’s answer to Microsoft’s Halo franchise, and has an identical give attention to story with a completely-fleshed out universe.

In Mercenary, the developers desired to take players out of the normal mindset that the Helghast are the bad guys while the ISA are the best guys. Instead, the team desirous about a 3rd faction of mercenaries that work for either side to deliver what they call the “ambiguity of war.”

Posted on January 22, 2014 at 7:28 am

Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation was is of probably the most ambitious titles yet released for the PlayStation Vita. The sport was released alongside Assassin’s Creed III last year and lines a totally new Assassin’s Creed story – complete with a feminine protagonist. Like Resident Evil: Revelations, however, some franchises are only too big for publishers to maintain games confined to handheld systems.

It was announced back in September that Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation will be coming to PC and consoles, and now the title has a release date for the PlayStation 3 – January 14, 2014. The HD version of the title can be offered as a digital download in the course of the PlayStation Store for $20.

Sony Claims The PS4 Is The right Place To Play

Posted on January 21, 2014 at 1:06 pm

Will the PlayStation 4 be the fitting place to play games within the next generation? That’s hard to reply at this point, and possibly might be for the whole lot of its lifetime. In fact, saying one console is healthier than the opposite is a purely subjective opinion, and Sony is of the opinion that the PS4 could be the one console to rule all of them.

In a brand new advert released today, Sony proclaims that PlayStation 4 is “the best place to play.” What does that mean? Within the context of the ad, Sony claims that the PS4 may have lots of exclusive first-party games, exclusive third-party game content and over 100 games in development.

Just for fun, let’s compare both next-gen consoles, we could? For the exclusive count, Sony says that the PS4 has 24 games in development. The Xbox One has 21 exclusives in development. It is going to be noted, however, that many of the Xbox One exclusives, like Titanfall, are merely console exclusive.

What about exclusive content for third-party games? At this day and age, it seems that only Ubisoft titles will provide the PS4 with exclusive content of their games, and that content might be timed to just the primary six months of availability. As for the Xbox One, it gets exclusive content for both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4. Once more, that exclusive content is timed, but getting timed exclusives for either one of this year’s big shooters will play heavily in Microsoft’s favor.

As for the selection of games in development, the number for both consoles is tough to pin down as it’s constantly changing. As of without delay, however, the Xbox One has 75 games in development. As for the PS4, it currently has 156 confirmed to be in development titles. The high number may be mostly attributed to the big variety of indie and free-to-play titles in development for the console. So far as AAA games go, however, the PS4 and Xbox One are becoming across the same selection of titles.

So, what does this all let us know? It tells us that you’re going to have a good time irrespective of which next-gen console you purchase. Just about all third-party content could be multiplatfom and any exclusive content in those games will occur on other platforms in the end. In all reality, choosing between the PS4 and Xbox One all comes right down to the primary-party exclusives you’ll want to play, and both platforms have some great exclusives lined up.

Super Mario 3D World Continues To electrify In Latest Gameplay Trailer

Posted on January 20, 2014 at 12:09 pm

We’re just a month clear of the launch of Super Mario 3D World, but Nintendo has stayed relatively quiet concerning the game. Sure, we’ve seen some trailers here and there, but there’s not plenty being said in regards to the next big 3D Mario game. Well, that was the case, but now Nintendo of Japan has come to our rescue with a great 6-minute long gameplay trailer.

In the newest gameplay trailer for Super Mario 3D World, we’re given a glance in any respect the ability-ups Mario can collect within the game. There are the standard power-ups just like the Tanooki Suit and the fireplace Flower, but there also are new power-ups just like the Cherry which could split Mario into multiple similar to himself or the Piranha Plant that could eat enemies from a distance.

The below trailer also reveals for the 1st time what may be best described as Miiverse stamps. Throughout it slow with the sport, you’ll bump into hidden stamps that let you “stamp” custom Mario art in your Miiverse posts. It’ll prove to be useful for many who aren’t great artists but like to add a bit more flair to their Miiverse posts.

Also, i believe it’s worth declaring just how pretty Super Mario 3D World is. Nintendo has always somehow managed to make their games look great, even on inferior hardware, and this game looks to continue that trend. Even when the sport comes out every week after the PS4 launches, Sony’s next gen titles might be hard pressed to provoke me greater than what Nintendo is doing here with its use of bright, vibrant colors.

Super Mario 3D World launches November 22 exclusively for the Wii U.

Posted on January 18, 2014 at 1:16 pm

The lull in gaming previews felt during October is finally coming to an end. Earlier this week Activision released the launch trailer for its biggest game of the year (Call of Duty: Ghosts), and now Ubisoft has done the identical.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is ready to launch next week and Ubisoft has just released its definitive preview for the piracy simulator. As opposed to the whole various ship battles, exploration, and mini-game elements previewed within the past few months, the launch trailer for Black Flag specializes in the game’s story. The title will tell the tale of Edward Kenway, a pirate within the early 18th century that still just happens to be an assassin.

With Watch Dogs now delayed until next year, Black Flag is decided to be Ubisoft’s first game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 consoles. Though Assassin’s Creed III left the series in somewhat a lurch, next-gen visuals and the liberty of a pirate’s life just might put some new life into the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Here’s What NBA Live 14 Seems like At the PS4, Xbox One

Posted on January 15, 2014 at 12:26 pm

Last week, 2K Sports revealed the primary gameplay footage from NBA 2K14 for PS4 and Xbox One. The video claimed to be taken from a PS4 and it looked absolutely phenomenal. Now EA Sports has revealed the primary gameplay trailer for its upcoming next gen basketball title – NBA Live 14. Which one looks better? See for yourself:

To refresh your memory, here’s what NBA 2K14 feels like running at the PS4. We will be able to assume that the Xbox One version will look the identical:

What’s immediately noticeable is that NBA 2K14 is clearly the higher looking game. There’s no contest as 2K Sports has made what looks to be probably the most realistic looking basketball game ever made. NBA Live 14 also loses some points for not showing us what its Anthony Davis feels like, but I can’t imagine it having the ability to nail his glorious unibrow in addition to NBA 2K14 does.

You can’t count out NBA Live 14 just yet, however, as EA Sport’s cutting-edge Ignite Engine may bring something new to the table. When it was first revealed, EA Sports said Ignite would make sports seem more real. So it may possibly not look better, but NBA Live 14 definitely sports some impressive player animation.

Even if NBA Live 14 doesn’t quite stack as much as NBA 2K14, it is advisable to give the blokes at EA Sports a break. The team has needed to weather their game being canceled for the last two years, and this may be the primary time we’ve seen an NBA game from EA Sports since 2010.

In short, it’s nice to finally have some competition inside the basketball game arena again.

NBA Live 14 will launch exclusively at the PS4 and Xbox One on November 15 and November 22 respectively.
