Single Player Story For Battlefield 4 Gets A Trailer, Too

Posted on January 14, 2014 at 12:46 pm

Believe it or not, modern combat-based first-person shooters still have single player stories and gameplay options available. Well, at the very least these developer houses play lip service to the choice, with varying results. In truth, some of the bigger criticisms about Battlefield 3 specializes in the solo offering. Basically, the net play was great, the only player option rather less so. In view that the Battlefield franchise was created with its cope with the web multiplayer aspect, with the one player serving as little greater than a familiarity ground, perhaps this could was understood.

Whatever the case, perhaps the criticisms resonated because members of the creative team indicate more attention can be paid to the one player experience in BF4.

Perhaps desperate to silence the critics-something good content normally does-Dice and EA even went out in their option to focus one in all their lavishly-produced trailers at the single player storyline, which leads this post. The game’s cinematics look fantastic, and Battlefield’s gameplay is often tight-something the new multiplayer beta confirmed-however the plot probably isn’t anything new. Create reasons to transport troops around various hotspots around the world and let the battle commence. Rinse, repeat. That isn’t a foul thing, either, especially if the action and gameplay is fast, furious, and actually responsive.

Considering Dice’s track record with creating fantastic combat-based gameplay, the one player can be fine. It’d also be fabulous, if it’s as important to the developers as they indicate it’s. Concerning the trailer, be at the look out for the dog-punching scene

It’s nice to peer Dice’s penchant for poking fun on the Call of Duty series remains intact. Oh, and the undeniable fact that Michael K. Williams voices the only player story’s lead character, SSgt Graves, is a serious positive regarding fan reception.

Posted on January 13, 2014 at 11:04 am

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. and Traveler’s Tales announced that it was finally bringing Marvel to the LEGO universe with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Since then, a large number of previews and trailers have confirmed that it’ll be essentially the mostsome of the most complete Marvel game thus far with over 100 heroes to choose between. Now you, the player, can finally take these types of classic heroes out for a spin.

Warner Bros. Games announced that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is now available at North American retailers for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita and PC. The sport may also be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One on November 15 and 22 respectively.

“We are excited to finally bring LEGO gamers and Marvel fans the action-packed game they’ve all been awaiting with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes,” said Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games Publishing. “LEGO Marvel delivers an original story told in classic LEGO humor and with greater than 100 playable characters, the sport also includes a powerful roster featuring among the most iconic fan favorites, which include the Hulk and Spider-Man, spanning the complete Marvel Universe, including Stan Lee!”

Marvel fans might be happy to understand that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes not just features all their favorite heroes, however the most iconic locations from the Marvel universe in addition. A few of the areas players will explore include Stark Tower, the Daily Bugle, the Baxter Building, the X-Mansion, Asgard, Doctor Doom’s Castle and more.

As for the tale, players can expect something along the lines of what they saw inside the Avengers but amplified to incorporate all of the Marvel universe. Also, Loki appears to just be slightly player this time around as Galactus returns because the central antagonist.

“The collaboration with LEGO and TT Games, an uninhibited creative process, has resulted into a superior execution that allows you to delight children and adults alike,” said Andreea Enache-Thune, Senior Vp, Games & Digital Distribution, Marvel Entertainment. “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes reaffirms our commitment to quality. With every game build and each trailer that brought us in the direction of the finish line, our enthusiasm has grown exponentially and to assert that we’re excited to look this game come to life is a sarcasm.”

So, how much is that this game going to price? Well, that’s the funny part as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes could have the strangest pricing of any game I’ve ever seen. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will cost $50 on Xbox 360 and PS3, $40 on Wii U, 3DS and PS Vita, $30 on PC and $60 on PS4 and Xbox One. On account that LEGO games generally cost $50 on current gen platforms, it’s sort of surprising to work out them raise the cost to $60 on next-gen platforms. With the additional month of development time, there’s more content in those versions, but I doubt it.

Posted on January 12, 2014 at 11:46 am

Sony today announced thon the “Beyond Touch” app for the recently released Beyond: Two Souls is now officially out for both iOS and Android.

Though recent attempts at the much-touted second screen experience for games have featured game tie-in mini games or completely separate experiences, the Beyond Touch app simply offers in a different way to play Beyond: Two Souls. Players can forego the PlayStation 3′s DualShock controller and play in the course of the entire game using a smartphone or a tablet.

The app also includes support for the game’s “Duo Mode,” which permits two players to play Beyond instantly. Players can decide to play either protagonist Jodie or her ephemeral sidekick Aiden with either a DualShock controller or a mobile device. Two mobile devices or two DualShock controllers can be options for the “Duo Mode.”

Developer Quantic Dream’s games have consistently been one of the crucial easiest for non-gamers to play. Director David Cage’s obvious cinematic inspiration has created games filled with quick time events and choices. The studio’s previous game, Heavy Rain, had few ways in which players could truly fail. Sony is promising that the Beyond Touch app will make the gameplay in Beyond: Two Souls even easier, going as far as to assert the app have been designed to be “accessible to non-console gamers who don’t feel comfortable using a DualShock controller.” Which means that Sony is hoping the tale-heavy Beyond and a simplified touch interface could pull in casual gamers not used to playing big-budget console exclusives.

Batman: Arkham Origins has loads of fans anxious as it’s the primary game inside the franchise not made by Rocksteady. The brand new developers at Warner Bros. Montreal assure us that they’re doing everything to make this prequel game just nearly as good as Rocksteady’s previous efforts, but it’s hard to believe those form of statements without actual gameplay footage to back it up.

Well, you asked and it’s been granted to you as Warner Bros. Games has just shared nearly 17 minutes of Batman: Arkham Origins gameplay footage. With this, anxious fans can finally see just how WB Montreal has adapted the gameplay from Arkham City.

Just like in Arkham City, Arkham Origins is about in an open world. It is a pre-Arkham Asylum Gotham City so players can expect things to appear a little bit different. Players may also visit the Batcave to make new gadgets, train, practice new battle tactics and more.

After watching this extensive gameplay preview, it’s pretty obvious that WB Montreal isn’t attempting to dramatically change the formula. That are meant to allay any fears that fans could have in regards to the gameplay, but we still don’t know entirely what to anticipate from the full narrative. Prequels are rarely ever good, but you may never count Batman out.

Killzone: Shadow Fall Director Shares Details At the PS4 Launch Title

Posted on January 5, 2014 at 6:49 am

On November 15, the PS4 will launch and kickstart the following generation of gaming. On that day, Killzone: Shadow Fall might be among the first actual games to check out and convince gamers that they’re living within the next generation. Thus, Sony has invited the game’s director, Steven Ter Helde, to respond to fans’ questions regarding this next chapter inside the Killzone universe.

Killzone fans, which includes myself, who’ve thoroughly enjoyed the tale told during the last three Killzone games won’t find much from those titles in Shadow Fall. Instead, Ter Helde says that it “is a fresh start for the franchise.” He wants new players to leap into the Killzone universe without needing to grasp any of Helghan’s history, but he says the sport will include “nods to earlier Killzone titles.”

Speaking of the one player campaign, Ter Helde reveals that the campaign will “last well over 10 hours for many gamers.” That’s excellent news for individuals who chose Killzone: Shadow Fall as their launch title because it ensures that they’ll get some pretty good mileage out of the campaign.

Of course, Killzone: Shadow Fall’s single player campaign is just one portion of the title. There’s also a powerful multiplayer mode during which Guerilla is investing loads of effort and time into. As an example, they’re completely changing up the multiplayer game to reward players with levels for completing challenges rather than the normal XP progression seen in newest shooters. Reason why they “felt XP was less about skill and more about time.”

As for other multiplayer details, Ter Helde shares that there’ll be no split-screen support, and that there’ll be no campaign co-op. Instead, the sport will offer a post-launch co-op horde mode so that you can be offered as paid DLC.

Ter Helde also confirms that the sport will offer dedicated servers to “handle the transfer of knowledge between clients.”

On a last note, Killzone: Shadow Fall has gone gold. In other words, it’s done and the master was sent off to be pressed onto millions of retail discs.
