Sony Confirms That Digital PS4 Games Can be Accessible From Any Console

Posted on July 14, 2013 at 1:21 pm

Speaking on the Develop conference in Brighton, England, this week, Sony’s senior research & development leader Neil Brown confirmed that PlayStation 4 players can have full access to their digital games from other PS4 consoles. “You can visit your friend’s house, you may log into your account, and [you might] play any game out of your digital library,” he told attendees.

Brown also gave some further insight on the conference into the PS4’s “play as you download” function:

“A similar system also works on Blu-ray, [whereby] chunks are automatically copied to the hard disk drive within the background. Which means after the primary short time, your game can depend upon having faster read speeds from the hard disk. [This] provides a greater experience for players and is an entirely background process for the player. They don’t need to await anything to put in before playing the sport. The sport will launch once the disk have been installed the drive.”

China to finish Game Console Ban, With a Catch

Posted on July 14, 2013 at 8:38 am

For 13 years, China has officially banned the sale of online game consoles in its country. Now, a brand new Chinese economic plan reveals that the ban may soon come to an end – but with a catch.

The South China Morning Post today reported that a policy blueprint for a “Shanghai free trade zone” would allow for the sale of online game consoles, so long as foreign hardware companies (inclusive of Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft) manufacture the consoles throughout the new free trade zone. The plan reportedly has the backing of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, who’s looking to open China to more foreign business investments.

Console manufacturers will need the approval of the Chinese culture ministry to sell their products, meaning strict content censorship (stricter than Australia, even) is normally implemented. The key reason cited for the unique ban was the violence and political content seen in mainstream games.

The end of China’s official console ban could dead an enormous blow to the big black market that has sprung up inside the country around games. China is definitely-referred to as a primary consumer of pirated games and online game consoles. Though the report quotes a Sony official as saying the Japanese company would not yet have a plan for selling PlayStation consoles in China, the top of Microsoft’s Greater China region, Ralph Haupter, was quoted as saying that Microsoft is addressing legal barriers to an Xbox One launch in China.

Rambo: The Online game Looks just a little Dated

Posted on July 12, 2013 at 7:36 am

In the online game industry, striking while the iron is hot is nowhere near as important because the strike being considered one of quality. Don’t tell that to those that oversee the decision of Duty franchise, mind you. With that during mind, the premise of game devoted to the violent undertakings of John Rambo is fertile ground waiting to be plowed, and that’s what just what Reef Entertainment is attempting to do with Rambo: The Online game. a few days ago, they released a gameplay trailer, which supplies us a good idea of the way things are progressing.

Presented within the familiar first person shooter format, the Rambo game certainly has a whole lot of ground it will probably cover, that is apparently the goal of the publishers. The trailer shows our hero in locations from all of the theatrical installments. The question is, why do the cutscenes look so, well, dated? Have a look for yourself:

While the graphics at the gameplay look fine-an awesome FPS doesn’t need vast, detailed open worlds if the action delivers-however the quality of the cutscene-based action just isn’t as much as par with modern console/PC capabilities. Again, it’s quite possible, if not common, for a game to conquer graphical shortcomings, however the cartoon-like quality inside the Rambo trailer was a bit unexpected. Maybe the developers are focusing on giving us a game that effectively puts the player within the shoes of John Rambo when he’s going up against a team of Spetsnaz, or a redneck police officer who doesn’t like drifters.

That seems to be Reef Entertainment’s goal:

According to publisher Reef Entertainment, the sport may be “triple-A” quality and intends to “capture the gritty atmosphere and whole-on action which made the Rambo movies such a success.” To take action, Rambo: The Online game would be in response to the 3 original movies and have “shoot-outs, stealth killings, demolition, knife-play and more.”

It ought to be noted the publishers’ track record includes games like Liquidator 2 for the computer and Sniper Elite for the Wii. Does that improve the outlook for Rambo: The Online game ?
