Microsoft Congratulates Sony on PlayStation 4 Launch

Sony’s PlayStation 4 is officially out today and the corporate is currently riding on a wave of next-generation console hype. With every week to move before the launch of Microsoft’s Xbox One, Sony can expect several more days of heavy publicity before the focal point shifts to the contest.

Microsoft would be releasing its Xbox One console in a single week, on November 22. The street to the Xbox One’s launch hasn’t been as smooth as for the PlayStation 4, and Sony even mocked Microsoft’s poor console design decisions at this year’s E3. It will likely be interesting to determine whether Sony also congratulates Microsoft next week.

‘Infamous: Second Son’ Release Date Announced

‘Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty’ Coming to PS4 Next Spring

Sony’s #4ThePlayers Campaign Culminates In PS4 Launch Trailer

Over the past few weeks, PlayStation Europe have been making a collection of amazing videos under the $4ThePlayers tagline. It began with a glance back at the history of PlayStation that was then followed by witty viral ads for Street Fighter and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Now all of those come together for the very best ads that Sony has ever produced.

It all starts with Ryu in a cab because the world slowly transforms from ours into the arena of PlayStation. With references to Killzone, Knack, Watch Dogs and more, Sony appears to be going back to its old PS2 mantra – “Live on your world. Play in ours.”

The ad is definitely epic, nevertheless it seems a bit mean to elevate the hype much more for the Europeans which have to attend until November 29 for the PS4. Still, they are able to at the least boast that they got a more in-depth PS4 launch ad than us.That’s gotta be worth something.

‘Batman: Arkham Collection’ Bundle Announced

Final ‘Ryse: The Fall’ Episodes Released

Just over one week ago, Microsoft released the primary episode in a live-action mini-series tied to its upcoming Xbox One launch title Ryse: Son of Rome. The series, titled The autumn, follows Marius Titus, the protagonist that players will control within the online game. Though not quite as ambitious as last year’s live-action Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, the series does sport significant production values.

The first episode inside the series provided a little bit background, showing just why Titus is bent on revenge. The second one episode featured Titus re-telling a version of the tale of Damocles, possibly foreshadowing his own fate.
