We posted our review for the imminent X & Y today, or even though Pokémon have finally, officially moved into the third dimension, they don’t seem to be quite as impressive as this art.

Artist RJ Palmer was creating these very impressive realistic Pokémon for quite a while. You’ll find more of his collection on his blog, in addition to his DeviantArt page. He’s also collected most of his work right into a book which you’ll buy here, and place on a coffee table.

We reached out to Palmer to determine what kind of plans he has in store for the hot Pokémon of X & Y, and he says he has something within the works. He promises that we’ll see a Tyrantrum from him sooner or later, and he desires to draw one of the most Mega Evolutions. Palmer has a Feraligatr piece of art that he says may be done within the following couple of days, after which he’s going to move directly to Meganium, and the Legendary bird trio, Articuno, Zapdos, and Molters.
