Shigesato Itoi is a multitalented author, known is Japan for his writing, but in North America, he’s best generally known as the mind behind EarthBound. He recently published an essay expressing his appreciation for Earthbound and all of its fans.

You can head here to read the entire essay, which shows a real appreciation for the sport and its fans:

All types of people tell me about their memories,
about the whole lot I left inside the playground called Earthbound.
From the tiny safety pins, broken pieces of coloured glass to the withering leaves.
When I ask them, “how do you remember a lot?”
With their eyes gleaming, they are saying,
“I love that world such a lot I remember everything about it.”
I reply immediately saying “me too.”

As a manufactured from the hot found excitement surrounding EarthBound, Nintendo established a unique site that provides a digital version of the unique strategy guide sold with the sport.

Our Take
Most people are big fans of EarthBound here at Game Informer. It’s exciting to peer it tackle a brand new life with the Virtual Console release. It makes me slightly more optimistic that a localized version of Mother 3 (the Japanese name for the EarthBound series) will come to North America.
