Ever since Burnout Paradise, Criterion and EA was experimenting with the concept of seamlessly integrating multiplayer into racing games. There has been still a disconnect, however, as players must open a small menu to locate a multiplayer game. With the newest Need for Speed title, that menu was replaced by something a lot more ambitious.

EA revealed today that Need for Speed Rivals will feature a brand new multiplayer matchmaking system called AllDrive. Not will that you have to stop, open up a menu and seek a multiplayer match. With AllDrive turned on, every race has the possible to become a multiplayer session. The feature was worked into every event so everything from head-to-head races to pursuit events can finally end up with players facing off against other real players from around the globe.

So, what about people who just really hate people and would favor to play the conventional single player campaign alone? Based on Polygon, there’ll be an approach to turn AllDrive completely off and just race against AI opponents for the whole thing of the sport. So one can be a chunk more open, you may also set AllDrive to just match you up against those for your friends list.

Need for Speed Rivals could be available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on November 22.
