Our Take
It’s disappointing, but not surprising to profit that Ultra Street Fighter IV won’t be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As we journey into the following-generation, it would be time to begin occupied with Street Fighter V. However, not appearing at the Wii U sounds like it may be somewhat a missed opportunity. It’d be a pleasant treat for Wii U owners who’re awaiting Smash Bros. to have a top quality fighting game at the console. Also, as fighting games catch up with and in the direction of the area of spectator sports, it kind of feels like there can be some interesting innovations to experiment with having yet another screen. Maybe the player could play at the GamePad, while television viewers can have full 360 degree camera control to observe the match, or something along those lines. It makes you wonder whether Capcom felt burned by releasing a 3DS version of Street Fighter IV at launch.
