Castle of Illusion is fondly remembered not just as a fine online game, but as one of many first games to actually capture the feel and appear of Mickey Mouse. It need to be daunting then for Sega Australia to live as much as that pedigree with its remake. They’re not likely to let the game’s storied history intimidate them though.
In the newest dev diary, the team at Sega Australia focus on what they’re doing to bring the magic of chateau of Illusion to fashionable consoles. Unlike other remakes that attempt to reimagine older games for brand new audiences, the recent development team says that they’re doing everything they are able to to retain what made the unique so special.
The only major change between the brand new and old Castle of Illusion is that Mickey will talk within the new game. Their hope is to expand upon the barebones story of the unique to delight old and new fans alike.
Castle of Illusion may be released later this year at the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
