Though the studio has released only two games, CD Prrojekt RED (CDPR) today announced that it’ll be expanding its operations. The developer has opened a brand new studio in Krakow, Poland.
CDPR is the developer of The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, either one of that have been hits with critics. The developer’s main studio in Warsaw, Poland was founded in 2002. The corporate also operates the favored DRM-free video game store GOG. CDPR’s announcement stated that the hot Krakow studio will “bolster” the event of its current projects.
“A new studio, new people and new energy – we’re growing and we’re extremely excited that we will tap into the aptitude that Krakow has to give,” said Adam Badowski, managing director of CDPR. “We need to continue to make better and higher RPGs and the brand new studio is another big step in that direction. Krakow, one of the most cultural and scientific centers of Europe, is a truly special place a good way to leave a vital mark on our games.”
CDPR is currently engaged on two next-generation games. One is the third game within the Witcher series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, that’s currently slated for a release sometime in 2014. The opposite Cyberpunk 2077, a brand new RPG set sooner or later dystopia of the Cyberpunk pen-and-paper RPG.
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t have a release window yet, and won’t be complete until 2015 on the earliest. What it does have is without doubt one of the best CGI teaser trailer for a online game since Dead Island:
