Watched all of them yesterday. Well shot, decently written, competently acted and entirely lackluster.

The first couple of episodes are great, but it surely goes straight downhill from there. There’s little or no actual fighting, and what’s there lacks the brutality Mortal Kombat is understood for. It doesn’t help that the results are about as cheap-looking as they arrive and the designs for notable characters (Sub-Zero, Ermac) are terribly generic or simply downright bad.

It’s also at the short side, about 45 minutes total to burn through all 10 episodes. It appears like everything was shot in a couple of week, with an effective third of the season being flashbacks to the former season. Season one premiered in April of 2011, 2+ years looks as if an awful long term to for such little content.

Season One was much, far better in every regard.
