Nintendo Continues To promote Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Inside the Best Way Possible

Posted on September 22, 2013 at 2:54 pm

I love Nintendo’s silly live-action ads. i am keen on to think that almost all kids who grew up within the 90s and early 2000s love them to boot. There has been a time when Nintendo didn’t make a lot of them, however the silly live-action ads of yesteryear are finally coming round again.

Last week, Nintendo revealed the 1st TV ad for Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, and it was incredibly silly. It’s latest ad campaign for the title features an identical live-action antics of before, but now it’s tied right into a contest to win a 3DS XL and a duplicate of the sport.

While I do appreciate using people wearing costume, i might absolutely like to see a return to what we got within the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. Unfortunately, Lou Albano isn’t any longer around to play Mario, but I’m sure Nintendo could discover a suitable replacement.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team launches August 4 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

Kingdom Hearts III Will Conclude The tale, But Not The Franchise

Posted on September 22, 2013 at 12:30 pm

Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura is promising a worthwhile conclusion for Kingdom Hearts III, but is quick to guarantee fans that the series will continue.

Speaking with the L.A. Times, Nomura discussed the finality that Kingdom Hearts III will bring to fans. He makes clear, however, that simply because the core trilogy will see resolution, does not imply here is the top of Kindgom Hearts.

“As a core game, that’s finally the third, and 10 years have passed. I couldn’t call this a trilogy. There were such a lot of spinoffs. In ‘Kingdom Hearts 3,’ the battles that the characters has been fighting for the past 10 years will come to a conclusion. That’s the plan. However the series will continue. Only the specific enemy they’ve been fighting the past 10 years will come to an end.”

Nomura also told fans that they if have an interest in how Kingdom Hearts III will play from a mechanical standpoint, to play Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance on 3DS.

Kingdom Hearts III doesn’t have a high-quality release date yet, but we do understand it would be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Our Take
I really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts and its sequel, but have increasingly become disinterested in its spin-offs. Because the story branches and extends, the already confusing narrative becomes more complicated, and it makes it harder to catch up while you begin to fall behind. Kingdom Hearts is absolutely the equivalent of learning math. With the promise of conclusion though, it reinvigorates my interest inside the story. If there’s a visible finish line within the distance, it makes the possibility of catching up less initimdating.

Capcom’s Deep Down Gets a brand new Trailer

Posted on September 21, 2013 at 3:46 pm

Deep Down was one of the most more ambitious titles that we saw at Sony’s PS4 reveal in February. It was a new IP from Capcom, and it looked absolutely stunning. The sport skipped E3, but it surely seems like Capcom is able to start talking about it again.

At Capcom’s Network Game Conference, the corporate announced that Deep Down is a web-based game with a focal point on dungeon crawling. There’s not much new information beyond that, but its presence on the Network Game Conference makes it appear as if Capcom is positioning the title as a brand new online RPG to enrich its already popular Monster Hunter Frontier MMO franchise.

Unfortunately, the above trailer doesn’t actually allow us to see a number of gameplay. We do get to work out some new monsters, and another brief glimpse on the amazing visuals that Capcom’s new Panta Rhei engine is in a position to. It definitely leaves one wanting more.

So, once we will see more of Deep Down? Capcom says that they’ll have a playable demo available at Tokyo Game Show in September. The sport continues to be only announced for the PS4, but I wouldn’t be surprised to look an Xbox One and PC version announced on the show in addition. Deep Down is asking to be incredibly ambitious (and dear). Keeping it one platform just doesn’t make sense.

BioShock Infinite’s Ken Levine Teases Excitement For Tomorrow

Posted on September 21, 2013 at 12:10 pm

Ken Levine, co-founding father of Irrational Games and director of BioShock Infinite, appears teasing something for tomorrow.

Levine tweeted simply, “Excited for tomorrow.” This normally wouldn’t be cause for alarm, but in June Irrational Games said that late July would bring news about BioShock Infinite’s DLC. Next week is the last week of July, and also you can’t get any later inside the month than that.

Thanks to Phil Smith for the scoop tip!

[Source: Twitter]

Our Take
In most cases, a tweet like this will likely be dismissed. Levine could just be excited because tomorrow is Geddy Lee of Rush’s birthday, but Levine doesn’t do much tweeting outside of factors with regards to his games. Also, the promise of Infinite DLC information back in June makes it look like tomorrow may be the day we finally learn what’s next for Booker and Elizabeth.

Sony Takes Us Behind the curtain Of Rain

Posted on September 20, 2013 at 3:38 pm

Last year, Sony announced two new original titles from its Japanese development studios. The primary was Puppeteer – a platformer featuring a small boy that was changed into a puppet. The opposite was rain – an attractive puzzle/platformer game that includes an invisible boy that could only be seen when he’s being rained upon. Puppeteer has received quite a few exposure because it was announced, and Sony is now able to start talking about rain.

In a brand new making of video released today, the blokes at Sony Japan focus on what went into crafting the sector of rain. The developers say that they were inspired by the basis of being lost as a baby and the whole emotions it conjures. Specifically, the concern of being lost, however the curiosity that drives a toddler ever onward.

Rain looks to continue the tradition of ambitiously original games from Sony’s revered Japan Studio. In a year where the vacation season is stuffed with sequels, rain will hopefully stand out as a bastion of creativity that others will follow.

There’s still no release date for the title, but Sony says that it’ll be out at the PlayStation Network this year.

Greater than 4,000 Players Absorb Arms In EVE Online

Posted on September 20, 2013 at 6:48 am

As this story publishes online, EVE Online is currently embroiled in a single of the largest battles the sport has ever experienced.

Earlier this year, we wrote a narrative about another large battle that broke out in EVE Online. This battle has already exceeded the scope of that battle by greater than 1,000 players.

This battle is the manufactured from planning, unlike the war that broke out earlier this year. In expectation of the huge collection of players, CCP Games has slowed time within the game that will compensate the overburdened server.

We’ve reached out to CCP Games for a progress report back to see if any EVE Online records were broken. In the meanwhile, to work out the battle in action, you may check up on this live stream from drew_qt.

Our Take
EVE Online is a dense, difficult to digest game, however the community that has embraced it really is clearly passionate. To work out these kinds of players playing the sport simultaneously is quite impressive.

Oculus Rift Takes To The Sky

Posted on September 19, 2013 at 10:22 am

Most Oculus Rift experiences have geared towards the virtual, but Intuitive Aerial is experimenting with real world applications by attaching a camera to a handheld remote control flying machine.

Using the Oculus Rift, the pilot could see what the flying device was seeing. He was even ready to go searching with the Oculus Rift’s motion control capabilities. You could check up on the video below, where the pilot can see himself piloting the flying machine from the point of view of the machine. It’s pretty mind blowing.

Update: Activision Buys Independence From Vivendi For $8 Billion

Posted on September 18, 2013 at 12:31 pm

Update: On a distinct call with investors, Activision disclosed more information about its acquisition of Vivendi’s United states of america holding company. Vivendi, which up until yesterday held 60 percent of Activision Blizzard shares, will now control approximately 12 percent (83 million of 690 outstanding shares). Kotick and Kelly’s investor group will hold 24.9 percent of shares, with the pair representing the gang at the nominating and governance committee.

In effect, this provides Tencent internal influence one of the investor group, but not direct exertion over the direction of Activision Blizzard. However, it was also disclosed that are supposed to any member of the investor group choose to sell its shares, there isn’t any right of first refusal. In other words, the shares could be open for bidding without advantage. This permits Tencent (and the others) to exert pressure on Kotick and Kelly privately. Tencent’s interest comes from the present partnership with Activision on Call of Duty Online in China.

As end result of the the transaction, Activision is predicting improved performance for this year. We’ll know more on August 1 when the corporate holds its second quarter earnings call.

Original Story:

Earlier within the week, we told you that news was coming which could severely shift Activision’s financial profile. Late last night, the corporate announced that it was separating itself from parent Vivendi, and the value tag is big.

$5.83 billion dollars of the buyout will come from Activision, while another $2.34 billion will come from a set of investors led by Activision CEO Bobby Kotick and co-chairman Brian Kelly. The pair have put a combined $100 million in their own funds behind the acquisition. Tencent, which owns 40 percent of Epic Games is a part of this group.

Activision’s component of the acquisition comes from $1.2 billion of domestic funds, with another $4.6 billion coming from Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and J.P. Morgan. Activision has managed to complete what Vivendi itself couldn’t do in over a year of seeking to sell its stake: find someone willing and ready to buy.

Our Take
This is the absolute best outcome for Activision, which was about to be bled dry by Vivendi. As i mentioned earlier within the week, a unique dividend that could have pulled $3 billion from the corporate would have got Activision absolutely nothing except debt.

This purchase gives Bobby Kotick and corporate freedom, and it’ll make him and his investors very rich. A kind of investors, Tencent, is of particular interest. Their 40 percent investment in Epic paired with ownership of a few a part of Activision may have interesting potential down the road. i would not hold my breath for Gears of Duty, though.

Lost Planet 3 Trailer Explains The Science Behind Freezing To Death

Posted on September 18, 2013 at 8:56 am

You could say that I prefer the cold Winter months to the recent and humid Summer months. I never once questioned that preference before.

In the latest trailer for Lost Planet 3, we get two-and-a-half minutes of the science behind freezing to death. Because the temperature drops, your body starts shutting down in phases. All of it ends along with your eyeballs rupturing. It’s not exactly pleasant.

I desire to think that I still like cold weather, but now I’m not so sure anymore. Sure, heat exhaustion is an issue, but your eyeballs don’t explode. In brief, i feel Lost Planet 3 has the scariest trailer of the year. Survival horror games just like the Evil Within don’t have anything on freezing to death.

Lost Planet 3 will launch on August 27 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
